Unlike many Level 5 and Level 6 courses delivered in Ireland, Tourism with Business, Airline and Cabin Crew Training at Portobello Institute gives you the best possible chance to secure work within the Tourism and Airline Industry.

Over the past 35 years, the Institute have helped many of students develop a career within the Tourism and Airline Industries. In fact, a significant number of our graduates are currently working for companies like British Airways, Aer Lingus and Ryanair.

Our programme develops the most sought after skills that employers look for from potential employees.
For example, after surveying hundreds of employers within the Tourism industry, companies felt our graduates where equipped with the most relevant skills for today’s Tourism and Airline jobs.

Not only are the subjects highly sought after by employers but they are delivered in a really cool and interesting way by incorporating field trips and guest lectures from leading experts in their field.

What is more, we’ll pull the curtain back on what goes on behind closed doors in Dublin and Waterford Airports.
Last semester, we teamed up with the DAA and International Academy of Travel. Our educational partners essentially give our students backstage passes to Dublin and Waterford Airports. In fact, the students had their practical exam for Cabin Crew Training on a mock Aircraft in Waterford Airport. You can read about it here on our blog
Best of all, our students are paid during their work experience module. Yes, that's right; you read it correctly...our students are paid during their work experience.
As a result of building working relationships with many employers in the Tourism Industry, our students are specifically chosen by one of the Ireland’s leading International Events Company to host many International Conferences in the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD). See some of our students at work here.
In addition to material that is fresh and relevant to today’s world, you’ll have tutors who really engage with their students. Not only are tutors friendly but they are also seasoned professionals that love to share their knowledge.

What the industry has to say about our students...

Una Miley - Event Manager with A Touch of Ireland

"A Touch of Ireland has been working closely over the last few years with Portobello Institute in sourcing staff as host/hostesses at conferences.  We find their students to be particularly well suited to the work since they are all studying tourism and airline courses. The college give us great support in training and briefing the students.
We will continue to work with the college for coming events and can certainly recommend their students for tourism related work".

Andrea Brumar- Cabin Crew with Ryanair

"I applied for the role in Ryanair near the end of the course. It was always my goal to work for a large airline. I was delighted when I got the position of cabin crew staff with Ryanair. I have no doubt that this course helped me in the interview and eventually lead to me securing the role. The tutors were so helpful and patient, especially as English is not my first language. I enjoyed the course immensely and have kept in close contact with my class, many of which have secured great positions too. I would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone wishing to work within the travel industry".
