It has been recognised that the most common soft tissue injury sustained in sport is that of the hamstring muscle, hamstring injuries are so problematic due to the rate of reoccurrence once initial damage / injury has been sustained the tissue. The GAA have found the Hamstring muscle is the most common injury of lower extremities along with Rugby who also found that Hamstring injurers result in usually 17 days of missed playing time.

Hamstring strains can occur during a variety of athletic manoeuvres and situations, resulting in several distinct types of injuries to the hamstring, such as extreme joint positions like high kick and high speed running. This course will developed learners knowledge in possible risk factors associated with hamstring stains and tears such as weak core stability, muscular fatigue and inadequate warm ups.

  •  Eccentric Training methods for stronger hamstrings
  • Awareness around Preventative Training Techniques
  • Awareness around Prehabilitation & Rehabilitation
  • Differential Diagnostics (underlying hamstring susceptibility)
