Sports First Aid 

The recognition, assessment and immediate on-site management of sports injuries are crucial to facilitate rehabilitation and to minimise further risk of harm to the athlete. The Sports First Aid course designed for coaches, instructors, teachers, supervisors, sports assistants and volunteers; teaches the medical assessment and management of a wide variety of sports injuries. Importantly, participants will also know how to recognise when professional medical referral is warranted. This course will include Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) certified Automated External Defibrillator (AED) & Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.

Sports Taping & Strapping

The Taping and Strapping Course is a one day course providing participants with a full understanding of sports taping and strapping. They will have the ability to identify the suitability of taping for specific soft tissue injuries. They will acquire the knowledge about the different taping and strapping materials available and gain the practical ability to apply safe, effective taping and strapping to joints and muscles.

Sports Injury Prevention

The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive introduction to Athlete Monitoring. The course provides the fundamental framework for developing and introducing a monitoring system (with and without technology) in to your coaching-practice. The aim of Athlete Monitoring is to identify injury risk, reduce injury risk and optimise performance. 

Sports Injury Rehab

Movement function is essential for sports performance improvement. Dysfucntional movement patterns can lead to over-use, injury or underperformance. This course equips coaches with both the theory and practical componenets of assessing functional movement patterns, developing training interventions to address the findings  from functional movement assessments. 

Strength & Conditioning for Sport 1

The aim of this course is to equip coaches with comprehensive knowledge of how to develop and implement a strength and conditioning programme for their sport. The course teaches coaches how to identify strength and conditioning needs for their sport, how to assess individual needs and how to safely implement strength and conditioning programmes that cater for different levels of ability and experience. 

Strength & Conditioning for Sport 2

Understanding, monitoring and managing workload is an essential consideration for coaches looking to reduce injury risk and optimse perofmrance. This course provides a comprehensive insight in to periodisation for training (pitch-based & gym-based). The course covers the requirements for developing mirco - meso - macro cycles over a 1-4 year periods. The course covers different models of periodisation (undulating, linear) and effective implementation of periodised training (promoting adaptation, idenitifying over-reching & preventing burnout).
