A Solid Foundation

A qualification in Facilities Management (FM) provides a solid foundation in the principles and practices of the FM function. As outsourcing becomes more prevalent, the demand for qualified facilities managers has made this profession one of Ireland’s fastest growing. Portobello Institute’s Centre for the Modern Environment (CME) is delighted to offer participants, from entry level to senior managers, a path of professional progression through a series of internationally recognised qualifications from the world’s leading FM professional body – the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM).

Career Progression

Successful completion of these programmes aids career progression and builds earning potential. The increased knowledge and skills in FM enhances credibility in the workplace and increasingly, FM client companies are seeking BIFM qualifications as a minimum from their FM service providers. In the Republic of Ireland, Portobello Institute's CME is the established "Recognised BIFM Centre" for delivering BIFM programmes. The CME offers BIFM level 3, 4, 5 and 6.

The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) is the professional body representing the interests of facilities management. Its function is to promote high standards, to foster professionalism and to emphasise the responsibility of members to society, to their clients and to each other.
