Portobello Institute's impressive Georgian buildings are made up of bright and spacious classrooms and practical training rooms, which help promote a calm environment for learning. The fully equipped makeup studio and beauty therapy room provide the ideal setting for students to familiarise themselves within a working setting, while the sports science lab is equipped with computerised monitors allowing students to carry our research in line with their curriculum.

A quiet reading room is available to all students to use for study or research. Laptops are available on loan from reception should the student not have their own laptop or tablet on site. Plasma or projection screens are used in the classroom settings for presentation, after which student notes for most classes are available via our e-learning platform Redpen. Our online library ebsco is a great resource for all departments.


The college is situated within the heart of Dublin, close to the main shopping area of Henry street and less than a ten minute walk from the cosmopolitan area of Temple Bar. All buses and DART stations are near by. The Luas green line will stop outside the college from Dec 2017. Due to the college's central location there is a full range of accommodation available to suit your requirements, tastes and budgets.


The college atmosphere is friendly, enjoyable and one of relaxed learning. The college has a purpose built canteen where students can enjoy a variety of snacks and hot and cold drinks.  It is also a great place to go to get a welcome break from classes and socialise with their peers. There are numerous cafes and restaurants located around the area to avail of lunch and refreshments.
